I hope the anthology of poems in Unconditional Possible Girl will start conversations and raise awareness of social injustices and provide counsellors with opportunities to learn from the experiences of others, to be reflexive and bold.

I believe seeking and sharing real, personal and engaging experiences and making them accessible through poetry can build connections between different communities of people, supporting informed conversations and promoting education to effect social change.

The Naked Truth – November 2024

This poem was the entry point into my research.  It highlights blind spots and assumptions I had made about people in kink spaces; best practice related to Transgender and Gender Diverse people and psychotherapy and made me curious to understand more deeply.

Say it Anyway – February 2025

A poem about the industrial marriage complex and voicing an opinion in Midlife after a lifetime of compliance.  Written after being interviewed by Pigskin.  It’s my favourite. 

Beauty Ideals Reimagined – March 2025

It’s for anyone who ever felt they weren’t pretty enough when comparing themselves with conventional standards of beauty.  It’s inspired by my work with transwomen experiencing gender and body dysphoria and my personal experience.

My mum’s, best friends, daughters, employer’s cats preferred name – May 2025

This poem acknowledges that some people avoid conversations about about sexuality and gender. It also speaks about dead naming in families.
